The next edition of the EDD will take place in on 15-16 June 2021 in digital format.
Following the measures approved by the Belgian government to halt the spread of the coronavirus, the EDD organisers are taking all necessary precautionary measures to safeguard the health of everyone involved.
Given the actions of physical distancing and the travel restrictions imposed around the world, the postponement aims to ensure that the next edition of the EDD has a high level of attendance and a programme of the highest quality, in the interest of both the organisers and the attendees. For the first time, EDD will travel to the world and reach an audience possibly wider than ever before.
We reaffirm our commitment to the EU's Green Deal and aim to maintain the theme 'The Green Deal for a Sustainable Future'. The programme evaluation process was finalised, and the results communicated to the stakeholders. There will be no further submission or evaluation process for 2021. The European Commission invites all partners to continue their strong engagement with the event. The digital nature of the event will mean that sessions and stands will have to be reworked to better accommodate an online audience. All sessions will be shortened, the number of speakers reduces and more room be given to interactivity with the audience.
The programme will be published in early spingt 2021.
No, your application will not be discarded. All applicants eligible for the 2020 edition remain eligible for the 2021 edition.
A new call for applications will not be launched in 2021.
Due to the measures in place, at this stage we are not foreseeing any travels to Brussels for EDD 2021 and are working to produce a 100% digital event. Details of your participation will be communicated in due course. If you cannot participate in any form to EDD 2021, please contact us at youth@eudevdays.eu
